L'église est un ancien prieuré-cure dépendant de la prévôté de Saint-Vaury, elle-même rattachée à l'abbaye Saint-Martial de Limoges. Ce prieuré doit avoir succédé à un édifice cultuel associé à une exploitation agricole d'époque carolingienne. L'église de plan rectangulaire à vaisseau unique, comporte une flèche en bardeaux sur le pignon ouest. La façade sud s'ouvre par un portail du 12e siècle en léger avant-corps. Les éléments sculptés comprennent quatre chapiteaux et deux corbeaux d'imposte, représentant des animaux ou des personnages plus ou moins fantastiques, le tout encadré par un piédroit orné de grosses boules et une archivolte à têtes de clous. A l'intérieur se remarque la différence d'élévation entre la nef et la travée formant choeur, lequel a été modernisé à la fin du 15e siècle. Présence de décors peints sur la voûte du choeur et deux pans de murs de la nef. La voûte s'orne d'une représentation des quatre évangélistes. Dans la nef sont représentés le sacrifice d'Abraham ainsi qu'une scène indéterminée. Ces peintures peuvent remonter à la fin du 18e siècle.

History
The church is a former priory-cure depending on the provostry of Saint-Vaury, itself attached to the abbey Saint-Martial de Limoges. This priory must have succeeded an edifice of worship associated with an agricultural exploitation of Carolingian period. The church of rectangular plan with single nave, comprises a spire of shingles on the west gable. The south façade opens by a 12th-century portal in slight projection. The sculpted elements comprise four capitals and two corbels of impost, representing animals or more or less fantastic personages, all framed by a jamb ornamented with large balls and an archivolt with nail heads. Inside is remarked the difference in elevation between the nave and the bay forming the choir, which was modernized at the end of the 15th century. Presence of painted decorations on the vault of the choir and two sections of walls of the nave. The vault is adorned with a representation of the four evangelists. In the nave are represented the sacrifice of Abraham as well as an undetermined scene. These paintings may date from the end of the 18th century.
