Historique
Ancienne commanderie des Hospitaliers de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem, probablement fondée vers 1180, date approximative de la construction du donjon. La partie la plus importante est une construction rectangulaire flanquée de tours d'angles pleines faisant contreforts ; d'une tour ronde creuse parcée d'ouvertures ; d'une tour carrée contenant l'escalier à vis. A chaque étage de la construction se trouvent deux grandes salles ouvrant dans la cage d'escalier. A l'angle sud-est du corps de logis principal se trouve une haute tour rectangulaire contenant, à chaque étage, une pièce avec cheminée (donjon de la fin du 12e siècle). Ce donjon est relié à la chapelle par une aile en équerre qui devait servir de logement au commandeur et au chapelain. L'ensemble des constructions est desservi par un seul escalier. Primitivement, la circulation se faisait par galeries extérieures en bois, remplacées au 17e siècle par des couloirs établis entre la façade ancienne et le mur construit en avant. La chapelle servit d'église paroissiale et renferme un ensemble peint de la fin du 13e ou du début du 14e siècle, rare pour la région.

History
Former commandery of the Hospitallers of Saint-Jean de Jérusalem, probably founded around 1180, approximate date of the construction of the keep. The most important part is a rectangular construction flanked by solid corner towers acting as buttresses; by a hollow round tower pierced with openings; by a square tower containing the spiral staircase. At each storey of the construction are found two large halls opening onto the stairwell. At the south-east corner of the main dwelling block is found a tall rectangular tower containing, at each storey, a room with fireplace (keep of the late 12th century). This keep is connected to the chapel by an angled wing which must have served as lodging for the commander and the chaplain. The entire range of constructions is served by a single staircase. Originally, circulation was by exterior wooden galleries, replaced in the 17th century by corridors established between the ancient façade and the wall built in front. The chapel served as parish church and contains a painted ensemble from the late 13th or early 14th century, rare for the region.
