Historique
Dès sa nomination en 1730, l'intendant Tourny s'était préoccupé de la route de Paris-Toulouse et du mauvais état des ponts de Brive et d'Uzerche. Il envisagea de grands travaux pour la traversée de la ville. Un nouveau pont était prévu pour relier la commune de Sainte-Eulalie au piton rocheux du centre ancien Uzerche. L'essentiel de la première tranche de ce pont est avancé en 1745. L'ouvrage est mentionné comme étant achevé en 1753. Il possède trois arches en plein cintre, et est en léger dos d'âne. Il présente diverses caractéristiques du 18e siècle (avant-becs et arrière-becs en amandes ; couverture des becs à l'aide de chaperons en demi prismes ; maçonnerie de moëllons bien assisés).

History
From his appointment in 1730, the intendant Tourny was concerned with the Paris-Toulouse road and the poor condition of the bridges of Brive and Uzerche. He envisaged major works for crossing the town. A new bridge was planned to link the commune of Sainte-Eulalie to the rocky pinnacle of the old centre Uzerche. The essential part of the first phase of this bridge was advanced by 1745. The work is mentioned as being completed in 1753. It has three round arches, and is in slight back form. It presents various characteristics of the 18th century (almond-shaped cutwater and cutwaters at the back; covering of the cutewaters using half-prismatic saddle stones; masonry of well-laid rubble stone).
