Un premier pont, datant de 1861, s'est effondré en 1913. History
A first bridge, dating from 1861, collapsed in 1913. Following a competition launched by the Ministry of Public Works, the project of the Limousin Establishments, drawn by the engineer Eugène Freyssinet, was selected. Built from 1921 and inaugurated in October 1923, this reinforced concrete bridge with a single arch has a span of 131 metres, a world record at the time. Destroyed in June 1940 by the French engineers, the bridge was rebuilt in 1946, almost identically, and with the same technical characteristics, and put into service in November 1947.
