La première cathédrale romane, consacrée en 1076, fut détruite en 1119 lors de l'incendie de la ville par Henri 1er, puis reconstruite en 1140. L'édifice connut deux incendies, en 1194 et 1198. Il est reconstruit sous sa forme actuelle dès le début du 13e siècle. La cathédrale est ornée d'un ensemble de vitraux allant du 13e au 17e siècle. Les chapelles sont fermées par des clôtures en bois des 16e et 17e siècles.

History
The first Romanesque cathedral, consecrated in 1076, was destroyed in 1119 during the burning of the city by Henry I, then rebuilt in 1140. The building experienced two fires, in 1194 and 1198. It was rebuilt in its present form from the beginning of the 13th century. The cathedral is adorned with a set of stained glass windows ranging from the 13th to the 17th century. The chapels are closed by wooden screens of the 16th and 17th centuries.
