La construction de ce couvent de Mineurs Observantins s'échelonne de 1622 à 1699 et se termine en 1705 avec l'adjonction du clocher. Après 1793, le couvent connaît plusieurs réaffectations successives. L'édifice se compose d'un quadrilatère dont un des côtés est formé par l'église. Cette dernière présente un double intérêt, comme témoin de l'architecture religieuse du 17e siècle corse et comme lieu de mémoire en raison des séjours qu'y ont fait Pascal Paoli et son frère Clément. L'église comporte une nef et deux bas-côtés, et se termine par un choeur profond. Le bas-côté est irrégulier, ce qui prouve un remaniement. De même, les chapiteaux ont une fonction purement ornementale, ne couronnant pas de pilastres et se trouvant parfois en surplomb des arcades.

History
The construction of this convent of Observant Friars extends from 1622 to 1699 and terminates in 1705 with the addition of the bell tower. After 1793, the convent experiences several successive changes of use. The building is composed of a quadrilateral, one side of which is formed by the church. The latter presents a double interest, as a witness to 17th-century Corsican religious architecture and as a place of memory because of the stays made there by Pascal Paoli and his brother Clément. The church comprises a nave and two aisles, and terminates in a deep choir. The aisle is irregular, which proves a later alteration. Similarly, the capitals have a purely ornamental function, not crowning pilasters and sometimes found overhanging the arcades.
