The primitive church was raised over the tomb of Saint Restitude, martyred in 303. Built at the end of the 11th beginning of the 12th century, it was enlarged in the 14th century and flanked by two lateral chapels to allow better circulation of pilgrims. In 1735, a hermit was installed there. In 1951, the demolition of the wall which separated the choir from the nave revealed the primitive altar and the hidden part of the cenotaph. A sarcophagus with chi-rho, dating from the early 4th century, was also uncovered. Nothing remains of the Romanesque church, rebuilt at the end of the Middle Ages. The whole composed of a central building flanked by two symmetrical chapels, presents a cruciform plan. The chevet is flat, topped with an octagonal structure. A small bell tower rises above the south lateral chapel. The choir topped with a dome as well as the decoration date from the 18th century. The choir is decorated with stucco friezes. The cenotaph is topped with a two-sloped cover decorated with two 14th-century frescoes which relate the martyrdom of Saint Restitude and her companions.
