Ancienne église piévane érigée à la fin du 16e ou au début du 17e siècle, sans doute à l'emplacement d'une église médiévale. En 1751, l'église est érigée en collégiale par le pape Benoît XIV. Le curé porte alors le titre d'archiprêtre. En 1793, la collégiale est supprimée. Des travaux d'agrandissement ont été entrepris à partir de 1836 (sacristie, collatéral) , mais ont été suspendus faute de ressources. ££L'église baroque présente une élévation antérieure à deux niveaux, scandée de pilastres, ornée de quatre niches et surmontée d'un fronton triangulaire. L'édifice se termine par un chevet polygonal. Le clocher s'élève au sud, accolé à l'édifice. De plan carré et à cinq étages, il daterait de 1595. L'intérieur se compose d'une nef séparée de ses deux collatéraux par des arcs en plein cintre. La voûte est ornée de peintures en trompe l'oeil. Six chapelles s'ouvrent sur les collatéraux. History
Former parish church erected at the end of the 16th or beginning of the 17th century, probably at the location of a medieval church. In 1751, the church was elevated to the rank of collegiate church by Pope Benedict XIV. The priest then bore the title of archpriest. In 1793, the collegiate church was suppressed. Enlargement works were undertaken from 1836 (sacristy, collateral), but were suspended for lack of resources. The Baroque church presents a front elevation in two levels, punctuated with pilasters, decorated with four niches and surmounted by a triangular pediment. The building terminates in a polygonal chevet. The bell tower rises to the south, attached to the building. Of square plan and five storeys, it would date from 1595. The interior comprises a nave separated from its two aisles by round arches. The vault is decorated with trompe l'oeil paintings. Six chapels open onto the aisles. The half-vault with arises of the choir is decorated with paintings on a gilded ground.
