Historique
La construction remonte à la fin du 12e siècle et au début du 13e siècle. La guerre menée pendant quarante ans, au début du 18e siècle, contre l'occupation génoise par le peuple corse, fut soutenue par la communauté franciscaine, dont les membres parcouraient la région pour exhorter les partisans de Pascal Paoli à ne pas faiblir dans la lutte pour l'indépendance nationale. D'importantes consultes se tinrent au couvent d'Oletta en 1745, 1748, 1750 et 1753. Les religieux furent chassés en 1789, puis réinstallés en 1854 avant de quitter définitivement le couvent lors de la séparation de l'Eglise et de l'Etat.

History
Construction dates to the late 12th century and the beginning of the 13th century. The war waged for forty years, in the early 18th century, against Genoese occupation by the Corsican people, was supported by the Franciscan community, whose members travelled the region to exhort the supporters of Pascal Paoli not to weaken in the struggle for national independence. Important consultas were held at the convent of Oletta in 1745, 1748, 1750 and 1753. The religious were expelled in 1789, then reinstalled in 1854 before definitively leaving the convent at the time of the separation of Church and State.
