Historique
Tour construite en 1559 ou 1581, dépendant alors de la chefferie de Bonifacio. Comme pour la plupart des tours de l'île, la protection des populations et des biens contre les barbaresques et autres pirates, représentait sa principale fonction. Cette tour présente la particularité d'être plus large que haute, et d'être entourée d'une enceinte au tracé en étoile. Au sommet de la tour, la terrasse est ceinte d'une couronne de mâchicoulis. History
Tower built in 1559 or 1581, then dependent on the chiefdom of Bonifacio. Like most of the island's towers, the protection of populations and property against Barbary corsairs and other pirates represented its principal function. This tower has the peculiarity of being wider than it is tall, and of being surrounded by an enclosure with a star-shaped plan. At the summit of the tower, the terrace is encircled by a crown of machicolations. Inside, the circular room covered with a dome possesses a well that descends into the cistern and the staircase providing access to the terrace. On the terrace, the staircase exit is protected by a sentry box with triangular elevation.
