History
The parish was dependent on the diocese of Sens. The territories neighbouring the commune possess Gallo-Roman remains. Near the church, a Gallic cemetery once existed. Deconsecrated at the Revolution and converted into a barn, the original pre-Romanesque church lost its roof in the early 20th century. The lintel of the portal appears to be a reused sarcophagus. The choir was terminated in semicircle and separated from the nave by a triumphal arch decorated with frescoes removed in 1958.
