Le château fut construit sur l'emplacement d'un château royal par le duc de La Vrillière. Du château même, il ne reste de l'époque de la construction qu'un pavillon élevé à la fin du 17e siècle et dont le décor intérieur a subi quelques modifications apportées par le duc de Penthièvre. Les anciennes douves ont été transformées en jardin.

History
The château was constructed on the site of a royal château by the duc de La Vrillière. Of the château itself, there remains from the time of construction only a pavilion erected at the end of the 17th century and whose interior decoration underwent some modifications made by the duc de Penthièvre. The old moats were transformed into a garden.
