Historique
A l'origine, ce fief dépendait de la seigneurie de Saint-Brisson, elle-même fief de Sancerre. La construction du château actuel remonte à la fin du 15e siècle. Dans la deuxième moitié du 17e siècle, la marquise de Sévigné, cousine de la propriétaire, Anne Marie de Coulanges, y est reçue à plusieurs reprises et une dizaine de lettres sont datées d'Autry. Le château est un grand bâtiment rectangulaire flanqué au nord et en milieu de façade d'une tour polygonale d'escalier et, au sud, de deux tours d'angles circulaires, celle de l'ouest abritant un oratoire du 15e siècle. La cour d'honneur est limitée par des douves autrefois en eau. Le colombier de la basse-cour présente un extérieur carré alors que l'intérieur possède un dispositif en rotonde des anciennes fuyes traditionnelles.

History
Originally, this fief was dependent on the lordship of Saint-Brisson, itself a fief of Sancerre. The construction of the present castle dates back to the end of the 15th century. In the second half of the 17th century, the Marquise de Sévigné, cousin of the owner, Anne Marie de Coulanges, is received there several times and a dozen letters are dated from Autry. The castle is a large rectangular building flanked to the north and in the middle of the façade by a polygonal tower for the staircase and, to the south, by two circular corner towers, the western one housing an oratory of the 15th century. The main courtyard is bounded by ditches formerly full of water. The dovecot of the lower courtyard presents a square exterior whereas the interior possesses a rotunda arrangement of the old traditional nesting holes.
