History
Edifice largely of Romanesque period. Capitals ornamented with fantastic figures. According to tradition, the church would have been rebuilt in the 12th century after destructions due to wars between Philippe Auguste and the English. The vaults are ornamented with royal coats of arms and crowned figures, which could indicate a rebuilding by the king, who remained suzerain lord of Montrichard after the conquest. The chapels are Gothic and would be due to Louis XI.
