Ce prieuré dépendait de l'abbaye de Marmoutier. La mention la plus ancienne remonte à 1124. Le 15 octobre 1580 s'y réunirent les délégués des grandes abbayes bénédictines de France. En 1747, le prieuré consiste encore en une chapelle, maison priorale et ses dépendances, juridiction, la cour, le jardin, le colombier et de nombreuses métairies. De l'ensemble des bâtiments ne subsiste que l'ancien réfectoire des moines, entièrement voûté d'ogives, et arc-bouté par seize contreforts. Au-dessus se trouvait le dortoir des moines.

History
This priory was dependent on the abbey of Marmoutier. The earliest mention dates back to 1124. On 15 October 1580 the delegates of the great Benedictine abbeys of France gathered there. In 1747, the priory still consists of a chapel, prior's house and its outbuildings, jurisdiction, courtyard, garden, dovecote and numerous tenant farms. Of the whole of the buildings there remains only the old refectory of the monks, entirely vaulted with ribs, and buttressed by sixteen buttresses. Above was situated the dormitory of the monks.
