A motte is attested from 980. The present château still retains the appearance of a manor house whose motte would have been levelled into a succession of two terraces. Of the medieval château there remains the foundation of two towers at the foot of the main façade, dating from the end of the 14th or beginning of the 15th century. Around 1520, the château was embellished with a façade with openings carved with grotesques and medallions. At the same period, addition of two round towers. Ruined in 1562, the château underwent major alterations between 1630 and 1650: creation of a central projection, polygonal turrets, two low wings which disappeared in 1832 and which formerly leaned against the first terrace. The outbuildings and the corner turrets also date to this period. In the 19th century, the terrace on the fore-court was modified in the neo-Gothic style. The central projection would have been rebuilt after the Second World War. Inside, a room retains a French ceiling ornamented with painted decoration of the 17th century.
