Historique
L'église se compose d'une nef, d'un choeur carré et d'une abside semi-circulaire. L'arc d'entrée de l'abside retombe sur des pilastres à chapiteaux sculptés. La partie occidentale a été reprise par l'architecte Marganne en 1844. Le choeur et l'abside du 12e siècle ont été décorés de peintures au début du 16e siècle. Le cul-de-four de l'abside montre, sur un fond étoilé coupé d'un arc en ciel, le Père et le Fils accompagnés de la Colombe, trônant devant une tenture brodée d'or, entre deux anges sonnant de la trompette. Au-dessus, se trouvent les quatre Evangélistes dans des médaillons. Plus bas, sur une frise au niveau des fenêtres, sont représentés les apôtres. Sur les murs du choeur, se distinguent notamment deux scènes de l'histoire de Saint-Jean-Baptiste (Décollation et Salomé présentant la tête du saint à Hérode).

History
The church comprises a nave, a square choir and a semi-circular apse. The entrance arch of the apse rests on pilasters with sculpted capitals. The western part was reworked by architect Marganne in 1844. The choir and apse of the 12th century were decorated with paintings at the beginning of the 16th century. The cul-de-four of the apse shows, on a starred ground crossed by a rainbow, the Father and the Son accompanied by the Dove, enthroned before a hanging embroidered with gold, between two angels sounding trumpets. Above are found the four Evangelists in medallions. Lower down, on a frieze at the level of the windows, are depicted the apostles. On the walls of the choir, there are notably two scenes from the history of Saint John the Baptist (Beheading and Salome presenting the head of the saint to Herod).
