Historique
La façade sur rue est intéressante par son portail, dont les piédroits, l'archivolte en plein cintre, les pilastres latéraux et la frise de l'entablement, sont ornés d'arabesques. Le fronton triangulaire abritait autrefois une hermine. A ce portail fait suite un couloir couvert d'une voûte d'ogives à liernes et tiercerons. La façade présente une ordonnance de pilastres à la décoration soble de losanges et cercles moulurés, et de chapiteaux à volutes. La tour d'escalier est réunie à cette façade par deux étages de galeries s'ouvrant par de grands arcs surbaissés et couverts de plafonds à caissons. Un écusson sculpté à la clef de l'arc du portail, a conservé son chef chargé de coquilles et peut faire supposer que l'édifice a été élevé par un des membres de la famille Viart, dont plusieurs occupaient de hautes fonctions sous Louis XII et François Ier.

History
The street facade is interesting for its portal, of which the jambs, the round-arch archivolts, the lateral pilasters and the frieze of the entablature are ornamented with arabesques. The triangular pediment once sheltered an ermine. Following this portal is a corridor covered with a rib vault with liernes and tiercerons. The facade presents an arrangement of pilasters with the sober decoration of lozenges and moulded circles, and capitals with volutes. The stair tower is joined to this facade by two storeys of galleries opening by large depressed arches and covered with coffered ceilings. A shield sculpted at the key of the portal arch has retained its chief charged with scallops and may suppose that the building was erected by one of the members of the Viart family, several of whom held high office under Louis XII and François Ier.
