Adjacent to the former priory of the Carmes, the church was built in 1473 on the site of the first conventional church of which no apparent trace remains, and subsequently substituted for the parish church of Saint-Saturnin which was destroyed in the Revolution. While the south aisle, vaulted on ribs with pointed-arch formeret ribs, displays the characteristics of 15th-century religious architecture, the north aisle, with its basket-handle vaults, bears witness to the transformations of the 19th century. The interior decoration appears to have been redone following the construction of the north aisle, as indicated by the date 1864. The choir is furnished with stalls from the abbey of Cormery. The pilasters of the north pillars of the nave are the buttresses which belonged to the first building. The stained glass dates from 1890. Bay no. 4 preserves fragments of stained glass from the château of Chenonceaux.
