Historique
Le logis abbatial est le seul vestige important de l'abbaye fondée en 1002 par le trésorier de Saint-Martin. Ce fut le monastère de filles le plus florissant de Touraine. L'abbaye fut détruite à la Révolution. Le logis date de 1786, construit suite à un incendie survenu en 1784, sur les plans des architectes Laurent Bourgeois et Prudent. C'est un bâtiment carré, d'un étage sur rez-de-chaussée. La porte d'entrée a son linteau surmonté d'un entablement sculpté soutenu par deux consoles, et supportant les armoiries de l'abbesse qui ont été bûchées. Les bâtiments de communs qui subsistent au nord étaient à usage d'écuries et de remises.

History
The abbatial main dwelling is the only important vestige of the abbey founded in 1002 by the treasurer of Saint-Martin. It was the most flourishing convent of girls in Touraine. The abbey was destroyed in the Revolution. The main dwelling dates from 1786, built following a fire that occurred in 1784, on the plans of the architects Laurent Bourgeois and Prudent. It is a square building, one storey above ground floor. The entrance door has its lintel topped with a sculpted entablature supported by two consoles, and supporting the arms of the abbess which have been defaced. The service buildings which remain to the north were for use as stables and sheds.
