Il s'agit d'un des quatre ou cinq oppida caractéristiques de la cité des Turons (Touraine) , représentatif des sites fortifiés gaulois. L'oppidum surplombe la vallée de la Vienne, entre deux vallons. Côté plateau, un rempart de terre le protégeait. Le talus, encore élevé, était doublé extérieurement d'un fossé. L'occupation du site est préhistorique et protohistorique. Le vallum peut être dater de la Tène III.

History
This is one of four or five characteristic oppida of the city of the Turons (Touraine), representative of Gallic fortified sites. The oppidum overlooks the valley of the Vienne, between two small valleys. On the plateau side, an earthen rampart protected it. The bank, still elevated, was doubled externally by a ditch. The occupation of the site is prehistoric and protohistoric. The vallum can be dated to La Tène III.
