Historique
Le château, construit à flanc de coteau sur la rive gauche de l'Indre, est une demeure de plaisance enveloppée dans un système de défense féodal avec chemin de ronde, mâchicoulis et tours d'angle. Les bâtiments sont groupés autour d'une tour carrée dont un côté, donnant sur la vallée, a été détruit. La façade, à l'est de cette cour, a été entièrement remaniée. Au 17e siècle fut rajouté à l'ouest un bâtiment couvert d'une fausse terrasse. A l'angle sud-ouest s'élève un gros donjon cylindrique du 15e siècle. La chapelle, édifiée sur un plan et d'une structure encore gothiques, est caractéristique de la première Renaissance tourangelle.

History
The castle, built on the hillside on the left bank of the Indre, is a pleasure dwelling enveloped in a system of feudal defence with parapet walk, machicolations and corner towers. The buildings are grouped around a square tower of which one side, facing the valley, has been destroyed. The façade, on the east of this court, has been entirely remodelled. In the 17th century there was added to the west a building covered with a false terrace. At the south-west angle rises a large cylindrical keep of the 15th century. The chapel, built on a plan and with a structure still Gothic, is characteristic of the first Renaissance of Touraine.
