Le château primitif fut construit autour des années 1150, puis reconstruit au 15e siècle. Entouré autrefois de douves, qui subsistent en partie à l'est, précédé au nord par une vaste cour entourée de communs, le château est constitué par un bâtiment principal qui se développe entre deux grosses tours cylindriques, couronnées d'un chemin de ronde avec créneaux et mâchicoulis. Du côté sud, deux ailes en retour d'équerre s'ajoutent au bâtiment principal, aboutissant chacune à une tour polygonale. Percements et toitures ont été refaits au 17e siècle.

History
The primitive castle was built around the years 1150, then rebuilt in the 15th century. Formerly surrounded by moats, which partly subsist to the east, preceded to the north by a vast courtyard surrounded by outbuildings, the castle is constituted by a main building which develops between two large cylindrical towers, crowned with a wall-walk with crenellations and machicolations. On the south side, two wings set at right angles are added to the main building, each ending in a polygonal tower. Openings and roofs were remade in the 17th century.
