Historique

History
The priory belonged to the abbey of Cormery. This priory was suppressed around 1768 by the archbishop of Tours, and the goods were united with those of the college of Chinon. The prioral building of the 16th century comprises two perpendicular wings. In the inner corner rises a polygonal tower containing a stone spiral stair, and another also containing a spiral, at the south-east corner of the west building. The access doors to the towers are surmounted by a large moulded crocket, garnished with hooks, terminated by a fleuron inscribed between two pinnacles surmounting pilasters. At the north-east corner of the west building, a cylindrical turret is borne in corbel by a corbel. South of the courtyard, a 17th-century building originally served as a residence. The chapel was located to the east of the north building and was replaced by a modern building after its collapse.
