Le polissoire a été découvert par M. Dauxerre vers 1865. Classé monument historique au titre immeule en 1889, il est resté dans la propriété du Temple, à Ferrières-Larçon, jusqu'à ce que les héritiers de M. Dauxerre le donne au Musée de l'Homme en 1953. The polisher was discovered by M. Dauxerre around 1865. Classified as a historic monument as a building in 1889, it remained in the property of the Temple, at Ferrières-Larçon, until the heirs of M. Dauxerre gave it to the Musée de l'Homme in 1953.
