Le couvent fut fondé en 1626 par l'archevêque Bertrand d'Eschaux. En 1794, il devient l'hospice de Chinon. Les quatre ailes se développent sur les côtés du préau carré du cloître dont les galeries s'ouvrent d'arcades plein cintre. La chapelle s'appuie à l'est. Elle était composée d'une nef non voûtée, suivie d'un choeur rectangulaire voûté d'ogives. Les façades et toitures de la chapelle ont été détruites après un incendie en 1980.

History
The convent was founded in 1626 by archbishop Bertrand d'Eschaux. In 1794, it became the hospice of Chinon. The four wings develop on the sides of the square courtyard of the cloister whose galleries open with round arches. The chapel is built against the east side. It was composed of a nave without vault, followed by a rectangular choir vaulted with ribs. The façades and roofs of the chapel were destroyed after a fire in 1980.
