Historique

History
Rouvray was a fief which, at the end of the 15th century, belonged to Jacques de Mallemouche. Originally surrounded by a rectangular enclosure doubled by a moat, and flanked by towers of which those of the north-west and north-east remain. The castle occupies the south side of an interior courtyard to which access is by a fortified gate. This gate was reworked in the 16th century. Two corbelled turrets are found at the north-east and north-west angles. A small square tower was set against or rebuilt on the east façade of the building. The seigneurial dwelling is a rectangular building flanked by a cylindrical tower at the south-west angle, the ground-floor hall of which served as a chapel. Two other round towers flank the north-east and south-east walls. On the north façade projects a polygonal tower containing the spiral stair.
