Historique
Croix de pierre octogonale monumentale et sculptée. Le socle repose sur quatre marches et porte plusieurs écussons. Le fût de la croix est semé de larmes et de fleurs. Sur chacune des huit faces sont représentés, en relief, les instruments de la Passion. Au milieu de la croix s'étalent cinq écussons dont l'un a deux dauphins serait celui des Gaucourt. Les écussons supportent une guirlande de fleurs, emblème de la jeune fille en mémoire de laquelle le monument a été édifié (Louise de Buchepot). Une inscription tirée de Jérémie est gravée en lettres gothiques sur la couronne. Au-dessus de la couronne émergent quatre fleurons qui supportaient les statuettes des saints personnages de la Passion ou des anges adorateurs. La croix fut brisée en 1793 par les Jacobins.

History
Octagonal monumental carved stone cross. The base rests on four steps and bears several escutcheons. The shaft of the cross is strewn with tears and flowers. On each of the eight faces are represented, in relief, the instruments of the Passion. In the middle of the cross are displayed five escutcheons, one of which with two dolphins would be that of the Gaucourt. The escutcheons support a garland of flowers, emblem of the young girl in memory of whom the monument was erected (Louise de Buchepot). An inscription taken from Jeremiah is engraved in Gothic letters on the crown. Above the crown emerge four fleurons which supported statuettes of the holy personages of the Passion or adoring angels. The cross was broken in 1793 by the Jacobins.
