Château construit sur un quadrilatère entouré de douves. Au nord-ouest, un pont en bois avec pont-levis donnait accès au château sous les défenses du donjon qui occupe l'angle ouest. Aux trois autres angles, des pavillons de plan carré forment tours de défense. Entre ces tours, il a dû toujours exister des corps de logis, sauf dans les parties avoisinant le donjon. Au sud-ouest, il ne devait y avoir qu'un mur avec un chemin de ronde, sans doute démoli au 19e siècle. A la même époque, les intérieurs furent refaits et transformés.

History
Castle built on a quadrilateral surrounded by moats. In the north-west, a wooden bridge with a drawbridge gave access to the castle under the defences of the keep which occupies the west corner. At the three other corners, pavilions of square plan form defensive towers. Between these towers, there must always have existed dwelling blocks, except in the parts adjoining the keep. In the south-west, there was probably only a wall with a rampart walk, no doubt demolished in the 19th century. At the same period, the interiors were remade and transformed.
