En 1700, la statue de la Vierge, jadis placée au-dessus du portail de la ville, dite porte Notre-Dame, fut déposée lors de la démolition des remparts, et transportée contre la façade de l'auberge qui, depuis, prit le nom de Notre-Dame. Sur une colonne, la Vierge à l'Enfant est protégée par un dais en forme de clocheton, surmonté d'une croix. Une lanterne suspendue à la colonne sert à mettre les chandelles. L'auberge était autrefois un couvent.

History
In 1700, the statue of the Virgin, formerly placed above the city gate, called Notre-Dame gate, was removed during the demolition of the ramparts, and transported against the façade of the inn which, since then, took the name of Notre-Dame. On a column, the Virgin and Child is protected by a canopy in the form of a bell tower, surmounted by a cross. A lantern suspended from the column serves to hold candles. The inn was formerly a convent.
