Historique
Mausolée érigé en 1733, en l'honneur de Nicolas de Malebranche. Nicolas de Malebranche avait acquis une notoriété avec la publication, en 1674, du premier volume de La Recherche de la Vérité, et est resté célèbre comme physicien et philosophe. En 1792 ou 1793, le monument érigé dans le cimetière du Mesnil-Simon fut détruit et les pierres employées à divers usages. La pyramide servit de support à une pierre employée à former un ponceau sur un ravin. En 1839, la pyramide, sa base et le globe avec attributs de la science furent retrouvés. La pyramide, trop altérée, fut refaite et les inscriptions relatant la vie et l'oeuvre de Malebranche reproduites. Le monument reconstitué fut replacé sur la tombe de la famille la même année.

History
Mausoleum erected in 1733, in honour of Nicolas de Malebranche. Nicolas de Malebranche had acquired notoriety with the publication, in 1674, of the first volume of La Recherche de la Vérité, and remained famous as a physicist and philosopher. In 1792 or 1793, the monument erected in the cemetery of Mesnil-Simon was destroyed and the stones employed for various uses. The pyramid served as support for a stone used to form a small bridge over a ravine. In 1839, the pyramid, its base and the sphere with attributes of science were found. The pyramid, too damaged, was remade and the inscriptions relating to the life and work of Malebranche reproduced. The reconstituted monument was replaced on the family tomb the same year.
