History
This manor was the objective of one of Marcel Proust's preferred walks during his stays at Illiers-Combray. In his childhood, the manor was occupied by a poetess, Mlle Joinville who inspired the character of Mlle Vinteuil. The place is said to have inspired Marcel Proust for "The Guermantes Way". The 18th century dwelling was transformed around 1886 on its eastern façade. Pieces of rock were applied to it and the windows were adorned with lintels in pointed arch.
