History

The church comprises a 12th-century nave terminated by a flat choir, an aisle remodelled in the 16th century and a south lateral bell tower of the 15th century. The nave is pierced by windows remodelled in the 17th and 18th centuries, except for two small openings which have retained their ancient form. A 15th-century wooden barrel vault with collar-ties, king-posts and moulded and carved sill beams covers it along its full length. Part of the panelling was replaced in recent times by plain friezes without mouldings. The south aisle is formed by two bays opening onto the choir by two 12th-century round arches with mouldings and bevelled chamfers and moulded capitals. On the first bay of this aisle was erected in the 15th century a square bell tower flanked by a polygonal staircase turret. The upper part in timber framework presents, on three faces, three slated dormers. The staircase turret terminates with an open gallery also in timber, surmounted by a campanile.
