Ce château est l'un des plus intéressants édifices civils de la fin du 15e et du début du 16e siècle. Le château occupe l'extrémité d'un promontoire rocheux dominant l'ancien gué du Loir. Les abords n'ont pas été modifiés depuis le 17e siècle. Entre le château et le Loir existent des jardins ayant conservé leur tracé ancien, leurs gloriettes, leurs allées de vieux tilleuls et le mur de quai sur le Loir. Le pont franchissant le Loir fut détruit par les Allemands en août 1944. Au pied du château, élevée sur les piles anciennes du moulin du 16e siècle, se trouve l'usine élévatoire des eaux qui utilise la force de la chute d'eau, continuant l'existence de l'ancien moulin pour des besoins industriels.

History
This château is one of the most interesting civil buildings of the late 15th and early 16th century. The château occupies the extremity of a rocky promontory dominating the former ford of the Loir. The surroundings have not been modified since the 17th century. Between the château and the Loir exist gardens having retained their ancient layout, their summerhouses, their avenues of old limes and the quay wall on the Loir. The bridge spanning the Loir was destroyed by the Germans in August 1944. At the foot of the château, erected on the old piles of the 16th-century mill, is found the water-pumping station which uses the force of the water fall, continuing the existence of the old mill for industrial purposes.
