History
This basilica was begun in 1869, completed for the structural work in 1879, and in 1886 for the interior arrangement. It constitutes a characteristic specimen of the neo-Gothic style; it was built on the plans of E. Marganne, architect of the town of Vendôme and of the department of Loir-et-Cher, for the foundations, and of Auclair, architect in Bourges, for the elevation. Brother Hariolf, director of the School of the Brothers of Châteauneuf, directed the site.
