History
A spring is recorded from the 13th century. Its ferruginous waters were reputed, but its exploitation as a medicinal fountain dates only from the middle of the 16th century, at which time it was called Fontaine Saint-Firmin. Its great period of fame was the 17th century. It was then the subject of important works. In 1759, its access was protected by an iron grille between two pillars, now disappeared. The Revolution dispersed its clientele. The promenade leading to it, planted with trees and hedgerows from the 17th century, was in the last century the site of a popular gathering.
