Au 11e siècle, l'église qui existait déjà fut donnée aux moines de Moissac. Vers 1135, l'abbaye devient définitivement propriétaire de tous les biens qui dépendaient de l'église de Pommevic, qui fut érigée, au 13e siècle, en chef-lieu de prieuré. L'édifice a été consacré en 1052 mais il se compose actuellement d'éléments appartenant à différentes époques. Le plus ancien est le choeur dont l'abside est voûtée en cul de four. Un doubleau et ses dosserets délimitent une petite travée de choeur en berceau légèrement brisé. Ces voûtes appartiennent à la première construction. Les deux arcades de la travée du clocher présentent des chapiteaux sculptés (feuillages, animaux). Le mur de clôture sud fait partie de l'édifice consacré au 11e siècle. Celui du nord a été remplacé par deux grandes arcades divisant en deux travées la partie inférieure de la nef. L'église a été agrandie au 16e siècle. Le clocher du début du 14e siècle est une tour carrée, fortifiée au cours des guerres de Religion.

History
In the 11th century, the church which already existed was given to the monks of Moissac. Around 1135, the abbey becomes definitely the owner of all the property which depended on the church of Pommevic, which was erected, in the 13th century, as the seat of a priory. The building was consecrated in 1052 but it currently comprises elements belonging to different periods. The oldest is the choir whose apse is vaulted with a barrel vault. A doubling arch and its dosserets delimit a small bay of choir in slightly pointed barrel vault. These vaults belong to the first construction. The two arcades of the bell-tower bay present sculptured capitals (foliage, animals). The south enclosing wall is part of the building consecrated in the 11th century. That on the north was replaced by two large arcades dividing into two bays the lower part of the nave. The church was enlarged in the 16th century. The bell tower from the beginning of the 14th century is a square tower, fortified during the Wars of Religion.
