Historique
L'hôtel fut édifié à partir d'éléments appartenant à l'ancien château comtal devenu le siège du sénéchal. A l'origine, c'était un vaste bâtiment, démantelé en 1229 après le traité de Paris. Une autre partie fut rebâtie au 15e siècle. La façade se distingue par son portail d'entrée en anse de panier avec une colonne torsadée. Le couloir est voûté d'ogives en briques dont les arcs reposent sur des culs de lampe ornés d'animaux fabuleux. L'escalier à vis logé dans la tour d'angle à pans coupés, se termine par un réseau d'arcs en brique prenant appui sur le noyau et reposant sur des culots moulurés. A gauche du couloir, en entrant au rez-de-chaussée, se trouve une salle voûtée dont une partie offre un réseau complexe de liernes et tiercerons. La cour est longée sur un côté par une galerie ouverte reposant sur des consoles, reliant le bâtiment sur rue et la tour au bâtiment secondaire.

History
The hotel was built from elements belonging to the former comtal castle which became the seat of the seneschal. Originally, it was a vast building, dismantled in 1229 after the Treaty of Paris. Another part was rebuilt in the 15th century. The façade is distinguished by its entrance portal in basket-handle arch with a twisted column. The corridor is vaulted with rib vaults in brick whose arcs rest on corbels decorated with fabulous animals. The spiral staircase housed in the corner tower with chamfered sides, terminates in a network of brick arches taking support on the core and resting on moulded brackets. To the left of the corridor, on entering the ground floor, there is a vaulted room of which one part offers a complex network of liernes and tiercerons. The courtyard is bordered on one side by an open gallery resting on consoles, linking the building on the street and the tower to the secondary building.
