History
The Romanesque church is surmounted by a dome and must date back to the end of the 12th century, as does the castle of which it was to be the chapel, the two buildings having probably been built at the same time. The machicolations which defend the building are later than its construction. The place of Lacapelle, considerable for its commandery, must have had some importance before the Wars of Religion according to the vestiges of opulent houses.
