Historique
Château construit de 1829 à 1835 par le maréchal Soult dans son village natal. Jardin à l'anglaise conçu à la demande du maréchal pour reconstituer un plan de bataille du Premier Empire et réalisé de 1828 à 1845. Au premier étage, un petit théâtre construit en 1864 présente beaucoup d'analogies avec le petit théâtre Napoléon III de Fontainebleau.££Il s'agit d'une construction rectangulaire avec deux légers avant-corps sur les façades nord et sud. Les façades se caractérisent par une grande régularité de composition. Au-dessus d'un soubassement correspondant à un faux sous-sol et abritant cuisines et caves, s'étend un rez-de-chaussée organisé autour d'un vestibule à colonnes. Ce niveau est resté tel quel : bibliothèque, bureau, chambres du maréchal et de son épouse, petit et grand salons, salle à manger, ont conservé décors et mobilier. Cette décoration comprend gypseries et papiers peints.

History
Castle built from 1829 to 1835 by Marshal Soult in his native village. English-style garden designed at the request of the marshal to reconstitute a battle plan from the First Empire and completed from 1828 to 1845. On the first floor, a small theatre built in 1864 presents many similarities with the small Napoléon III theatre at Fontainebleau.
It is a rectangular construction with two slight projecting sections on the north and south façades. The façades are characterised by great regularity of composition. Above a basement corresponding to a false basement and housing kitchens and cellars, extends a ground floor organised around a colonnade vestibule. This level has remained unchanged: library, study, the marshal's and his wife's chambers, small and large drawing rooms, dining room, have retained their decoration and furniture. This decoration includes plasterwork and wallpapers.
