Adossé au mur ouest de l'église paroissiale, un petit corps de logis était destiné à l'usage des gardiens de la ville, situé au-dessus d'un porche important qui constituait la principale porte d'entrée du vieux Monléon. Au sud, vers l'extérieur, la porte présente une échauguette qui la défendait. Elle était éclairée par une petite fenêtre à trèfle. Une porte ogivale permettait l'accès sans passer par l'église. Ce réduit fut par la suite utilisé comme prison.

History
Leaning against the west wall of the parish church, a small dwelling was intended for the use of the city guards, located above an important porch which constituted the main entrance gate to old Monléon. To the south, towards the outside, the door presents a watch turret which defended it. It was lit by a small trefoil window. An ogival door allowed access without passing through the church. This small room was subsequently used as a prison.
