L'origine des abbés Lays, gens d'armes qui eurent pour mission de défendre les Pyrénées, se situe vers 759. Arras avait son abbadie, manoir de l'abbé Lay, dont le seul vestige actuel est la tour circulaire qui se dresse près de l'église. L'abbé Lay devait entretenir le curé et l'église. Cette dernière s'ouvre par une porte gothique et est dominée par une tour-clocher rectangulaire. L'édifice, de fondation ancienne, a été très remanié.

History
The origin of the abbés Lays, men-at-arms whose mission was to defend the Pyrenees, dates to around 759. Arras had its abbey, the manor of the abbé Lay, of which the only remaining vestige today is the circular tower which stands near the church. The abbé Lay had to maintain the curate and the church. The latter opens through a gothic door and is dominated by a rectangular bell tower. The building, of ancient foundation, has been heavily remodelled.
