Historique

History
The castle consists of two main dwelling blocks. The main block, at a right angle, is flanked by two towers, one round, the other square with a row of corbels for machicolations at its upper part. At the foot of the tower opens the entrance portal of the chapel, situated partly under the tower, which has retained its Romanesque transept. Originally, the church had its apse to the east. The columns of the triumphal arch originate in the crypt and are surmounted by sculpted Romanesque capitals. The former owners are buried in the crypt. The south façade of the castle, Renaissance, is pierced by several mullioned windows and dormers surmounted by pediments. Several rooms have retained their French ceilings. The second building block, called château Bouscary, rises to the south, and is flanked by a round tower. In the courtyard is found the entrance portal in a circular segment, with moulded frame of a lopped tree. Following restoration, the pointed arch of the entrance to the enclosure was transformed into a flattened arch. In the castle courtyard is found a well partly dug into the rock, and covered by a conical roof.
