History
The present château was built on the site of the former château after Quercy had freed itself from English occupation around 1443. The present openings, notably the glazed doors with their wrought iron balconies appear to be from the second half of the 17th century, as does the terrace which precedes the north façade, and its perron. The Mansart roof is probably also from this period, as is the removal of the machicolations storey of which traces remain on the north-east tower. The château comprises a rectangular main dwelling, flanked at its north-east and north-west angles by two round towers. A third tower, containing the spiral staircase, is attached to the south façade.
