Le château fut bâti sur un plan très irrégulier dû au rocher sur lequel il est assis et dont il épouse les contours. Plan à cinq angles principaux, quatre étant renforcés par des tourelles élevées au 15e siècle. Le donjon, partie la plus ancienne, devait remonter au milieu ou à la fin du 13e siècle. De l'ensemble des bâtiments du château il ne reste que trois salles du début du 14e siècle, ainsi que la chapelle qui leur faisait suite. Les remparts ont en partie disparu. Seules restent encore visibles les tours nord et ouest.

History
The castle was built on a very irregular plan due to the rock on which it stands and whose contours it follows. Plan with five principal angles, four being reinforced by turrets raised in the 15th century. The keep, the oldest part, must date from the middle or end of the 13th century. Of all the buildings of the castle only three rooms from the early 14th century remain, as well as the chapel which followed them. The ramparts have partly disappeared. Only the north and west towers remain visible.
