L'église a été construite à l'emplacement d'une chapelle romane, à l'initiative de Philippe IV, en l'honneur de la canonisation de Saint-Louis. Les parties hautes de la nef et la sacristie en chevet datent du 18e siècle. L'église fut amputée d'une travée, à l'ouest, suite à un incendie, et la façade a été reconstruite à la fin du 19e siècle.

History
The church was built at the location of a Romanesque chapel, at the initiative of Philippe IV, in honour of the canonisation of Saint-Louis. The upper parts of the nave and the sacristy in the chevet date from the 18th century. The church was shortened by one bay to the west, following a fire, and the façade was rebuilt at the end of the 19th century.
