Historique
Les bâtiments du château entourent une cour ouvrant sur la vallée du Célé. La façade sud conserve les éléments les plus anciens de l'édifice, notamment la tour du 13e siècle et l'ancien beffroi à droite de l'entrée. Au-dessus du porche d'entrée à bossage du 17e siècle, se voient encore les traces de l'ancien pont-levis. L'ensemble de l'édifice est fortement marqué par le décor du 17e siècle : les balustres de la façade du côté cour, l'escalier intérieur. Certains éléments du décor intérieur sont plus anciens, notamment la cheminée du 12e siècle dans la cuisine, celle du 17e de la salle des Etats, et l'escalier à vis). L'origine du château remonte sans doute au-delà du 10e siècle, mais les éléments architecturaux existant, mis à part la tour et le beffroi, sont marqués par l'architecture du 17e siècle.

History
The buildings of the castle surround a courtyard opening on to the valley of the Célé. The south facade retains the oldest elements of the building, notably the tower of the 13th century and the former belfry to the right of the entrance. Above the entrance porch with 17th-century bossage, are still seen the traces of the former drawbridge. The whole of the building is strongly marked by the decoration of the 17th century: the balusters of the courtyard facade, the interior staircase. Certain elements of the interior decoration are older, notably the fireplace of the 12th century in the kitchen, that of the 17th in the States room, and the spiral staircase. The origin of the castle no doubt goes back beyond the 10th century, but the existing architectural elements, apart from the tower and the belfry, are marked by the architecture of the 17th century.
