Historique
Bloc de granit formant un tympan de cintre qui se trouvait peut-être primitivement au-dessus d'une porte d'église. Le X et le P entrelacés sont traversés par une barre horizontale semblable à une clef. Autour de la partie inférieure de la hampe du P est entrelacée la lettre S qui entre aussi dans le mot Christus. L'alpha et l'oméga sont suspendus aux extrémités des pointes du compas supérieur du X mais, contrairement à la coutume, inversés, l'oméga étant à gauche et l'alpha à droite. Ce chrisme est en saillie sur une sorte de plateau circulaire qui a été creusé. Ce plateau est entouré d'un cercle en torsade faisant saillie comme les ornementations du chrisme lui-même. Des lignes obliques partant du bord extérieur de la torsade forment comme le rayonnement de la gloire qui entoure le nom du Christ.

History
Block of granite forming a round-arch tympanum which may perhaps originally have been above a church door. The intertwined X and P are crossed by a horizontal bar resembling a key. Around the lower part of the shaft of the P is intertwined the letter S which also enters into the word Christus. The alpha and omega are suspended at the extremities of the points of the upper compass of the X but, contrary to custom, inverted, the omega being on the left and the alpha on the right. This chrism projects on a kind of circular platform which has been hollowed out. This platform is surrounded by a circle in twisted relief projecting like the ornamentations of the chrism itself. Oblique lines starting from the outer edge of the twisted relief form like the radiance of the glory surrounding the name of Christ.
