Monument élevé pour commémorer la bataille de Toulouse d'avril 1814 entre les troupes napoléoniennes commandées par le maréchal Soult et les troupes anglo-espagnoles. La réalisation du projet fut confiée à l'architecte Urbain Vitry et la première pierre posée en 1835. Lors de l'inauguration, en 1839, deux plaques de cuivre portant le nom des participants à la bataille furent déposées à l'intérieur du socle. Le monument est composé d'un obélisque reposant sur un socle en forme de mausolée ; il est construit en briques rouges.

History
Monument erected to commemorate the Battle of Toulouse of April 1814 between the Napoleonic troops commanded by Marshal Soult and the Anglo-Spanish troops. The realization of the project was entrusted to architect Urbain Vitry and the foundation stone laid in 1835. At the inauguration, in 1839, two copper plaques bearing the names of the participants in the battle were placed inside the base. The monument is composed of an obelisk resting on a base in the form of a mausoleum; it is built in red bricks.
