Cet oratoire paraît avoir été pratiqué dans un sarcophage ancien posé sur un de ses petits côtés, et dont les deux grands côtés auraient subi des ébauches de sculpture très primitives. La baie ainsi aménagée est fermée, dans le bas, par une maçonnerie fixe dans laquelle est encastrée une inscription romaine. Dans sa partie supérieure, elle est close d'une grille. En avant de cet oratoire ont été placées deux colonnettes en calcaire du 13e siècle, surmontées d'un arc en tiers-point. Le monument a été élevé à l'emplacement où aurait été martyrisé Saint-Gaudens.

History
This oratory appears to have been fashioned in an ancient sarcophagus placed on one of its narrow sides, and of which the two long sides would have undergone very primitive attempts at carving. The opening thus arranged is closed, at the bottom, by fixed masonry in which is set a Roman inscription. In its upper part, it is closed by a grille. In front of this oratory have been placed two small columns of 13th-century limestone, surmounted by a pointed arch. The monument was erected at the spot where Saint-Gaudens is said to have been martyred.
